Facebook is the de facto social media website. Sure you have a company page, but chances are you’re not satisfied with the level of engagement you’re receiving from the community. There are several simple tweaks to your company’s Facebook presence that can help you dominate the platform.
Knowing your Facebook audience is critical. The best way to boost engagement is to learn which of your posts are getting the best responses and doubling down on that type of content. So what type of content is attractive to Facebook users? Hootsuite found that their most successful posts were ones that featured content related to Facebook. Makes sense – people who use Facebook are more interested in articles and information about it. In other words, give the people what they want!
Videos on Facebook now average 4 billion views per day. Seriously. Videos are more readily promoted to the top of the Facebook feed and they are frequently shared. Creating a video that cashes in on a current hashtag or trend is likelier to draw attention, but don’t shoehorn your brand into a trend if it’s not a fit. Even a low effort video like Hootsuite’s Star Wars Day resulted in 700 clicks and had a reach of 58,000 people. Not bad for a video that only lasted 18 seconds.
Don’t be afraid to be part of the larger Facebook conversation. When the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage many companies changed their profile image to support the decision. This sort of statement resulted in positive attention and engagement from the community. Take a stand and get noticed by the community!
