Black Friday seems to get all the media attention because of the raucous behavior of shoppers, but it’s Cyber Monday that is putting up the big numbers. This year has been bigger than ever. Adobe is reporting that $2.98 billion was spent on Cyber Monday, which is up 12% over the number last year. The record numbers caused some online stores to experience outages and slow checkouts due to overloads, but that did not have an impact on the spending. The period from Black Friday through Cyber Monday has resulted in $11 billion in online sales, a 15% increase in year over year spending and accounts for 30% of all online sales in November.
